I set my alarm and actually got out of bed by 8:30 this morning. I'm not entirely sure why I decided to do that, but I did. I was dressed and out the door by 9, and shopping by a quarter after 10.
I think I gave the girl at Torrid a moment's pause, however, when I shuffled into her store at 10:15. I was still yawning, obviously not used to being awake at that time of day, but I walked straight in, grabbed a set of prosthetic fangs, took a lap around the store to browse, then took just the fangs to the register. She sort of laughed, then said "Did you just wake up this moring and decide you needed some fangs?" Yep. That's pretty much exactly what happened. Sometimes you just need ot get up early to buy a pair of vampire teeth. (NO, I will NOT be using body glitter at any point whilst wearing the teeth. Just...no.)
After that I went shopping for the bits and pieces I'd need to make special treat bags for C's kids. There are five of them, plus C's husband's teenaged brother that lives with them. I got a bunch of stuff, but I'm really sleepy right now, so I can't remember what all was there.
I also ate Taco Bell for lunch. It was delicious, and it's good thing there isn't one in my town, because I'd eat it all the time if there was.
When I got home, I started to take a nap, but then C called and asked if I'd come work for her for a couple hours so she could go to a parent-teacher thing, so I agreed. I was there for two hours, and all I really had to do was stand there while the new girl ran the till. She's training, so she just needed someone to be there in case something new came up. Nothing did, but I'll take the $15 boost in my paycheck, thank you.
Between the shopping and the short shift, I'm slightly in the red today, but less than if I'd refused to answer the phone when C called.
